Strategic human resources management is a key component of the mission of the Helmholtz research field "Earth and Environment" and a central prerequisite for scientific excellence. Successful research relies on attracting outstanding talent in its diversity and making optimal use of it in the wide range of research tasks. In this regard, the research field's one-program strategy offers enormous potential for scientists and employees in administration and science management with regard to further development of personal competencies, for equal opportunities, and for networking. Career centers and postdoc and personnel development offices of the 7 centers of the research field "Earth and Environment" have joined efforts to develop a strategic personnel concept for talent management in the research field, and are now planning joint activities in close coordination on an ongoing basis. These activities include
- COMPASS Mentoring Program: The application period for the first COMPASS Mentoring Program has been closed. The first mentee cohort will start in January 2023, with 3 mentees from KIT. The second application period will open in September 2023.
